England booked their place in the FIFA World Cup semi-finals after a dramatic 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway in Miami on Saturday night.

The Three Lions were pushed to their limits by a determined Norwegian side led by striker Erling Haaland, but a superb performance from Jude Bellingham proved decisive as England kept their dream of lifting the World Cup alive.

Norway made a bright start and stunned England when Andreas Schjelderup opened the scoring in the first half. The Scandinavian side looked confident and organised, frustrating England's attack and creating several dangerous opportunities of their own.

However, England responded just before half-time through their star midfielder Jude Bellingham. The Real Madrid player produced a moment of brilliance to bring his side level and shift the momentum of the contest.

The second half was fiercely contested, with both teams creating chances but neither able to find a winner in normal time. Norway came close on several occasions, while England struggled to break down a disciplined defence.

As the match entered extra time, Bellingham once again stepped up for his country. The midfielder scored his second goal of the night early in the additional period, giving England a 2-1 lead that they successfully defended until the final whistle.

The victory sends England into the World Cup semi-finals, where they will face Argentina in another huge encounter. For Norway, the defeat marked the end of an impressive tournament campaign that saw them reach the quarter-finals for the first time in many years.

While England celebrated progression to the last four, manager Thomas Tuchel acknowledged that his team would need to improve their overall performance if they are to go all the way and become world champions.

For now, though, England fans will remember this night for another inspired display from Jude Bellingham, whose two goals ensured the Three Lions remain on course for World Cup glory.
