Students at Aim High Tuition, a GCSE tuition provider in Oldham, are celebrating a wave of outstanding results this year, with a large number achieving grade nines, which are awarded to only around five percent of students nationally.
Among the standout performers was Tasnem Kurashi, who achieved eight grade nines and three grade eights. Fellow students Abdul Mahaimin and Ishmam also secured multiple grade nines and eights, with many others across Aim High, both online and in person, matching similar results.
Eniola achieved grade nines in both English Literature and English Language, alongside further top grades. She is also training professionally towards a career as a basketball player, and staff say her discipline in balancing that commitment with her studies is exactly what is needed to succeed at the highest level.
Yossef achieved a grade nine in English Literature and a grade eight in Maths, results his mother said she felt "blessed" by.
In science, Halima made standout progress with her tutor at Aim High, moving from a grade U in her mock exam to a grade eight in her final result.
Aim High Tuition, founded in 2010, has worked with more than three thousand students across the UK since, both in person and through its online platform, building a reputation for consistently producing some of the strongest GCSE results in the country.
But it is not only top grades Aim High is proud of. Staff say the progress made by students facing real challenges is just as significant. Aadam, who was homeschooled and had lost confidence after becoming a disengaged learner, went from a grade three to a grade six in GCSE English with the centre's support.
His mother described reaching a point where she "had to find a different approach," and said the tutors brought "the perfect balance of encouragement, support and banter."
Other parents echo similar praise. One mother, whose son joined in Year 10 for support in Maths and English, said the guidance "significantly boosted his confidence throughout his GCSE journey."
Among the families celebrating this year were the parents of Zohaib, who came in delighted to see his huge array of grade nines. Both parents were visibly emotional, and they praised the centre despite having initially been sceptical after previously being with a different provider, a view that changed after sitting in on one of his online lessons and seeing the Aim High Tuition's fully qualified, subject-specialist teachers at work.
Other students who had experienced inconsistent teaching at school found the consistency at Aim High helped raise their aspirations. Among them is Finbar, whose mother said he has been with the centre since year eight, travelling by bus each weekend for science lessons and taking online classes for Maths.
Both his parents say they are extremely proud of him, and his own ambitions are firmly set on politics, with sights on one day becoming Prime Minister.
He is not alone in aiming high. Across the centre, students have their sights set on futures ranging from medicine and dentistry to law and engineering, among them Zayeem, who hopes to follow in his father's footsteps to become an accountant.
Importantly, Aim High's students are not drawn from private schools. The majority attend local state schools, from all backgrounds, yet consistently achieve some of the best grades in the country.
Arif Mohid, founder of Aim High Tuition, said the results reflect the centre's ongoing mission to help every student reach their potential, regardless of where they started. Alongside running the centre, he has worked as a teacher in a local school for over a decade, with a background spanning education, television, theatre, BBC documentaries, public speaking and youth mentoring.
He has been recognised through the Oldham Business Awards, and recently represented Team GB in an international karate tournament, returning with three silver medals and a bronze.
Over the past fifteen years, Arif Mohid says his mission has been to help as many people as possible, not only within Oldham but across the UK.
"My ultimate aim is to inspire the next generation to unlock the next part of their life, and let them realise that anything is possible, with the right system to follow and the right people around them," he said. "A huge thank you to the tutors and staff at Aim High, and to the parents for trusting us with their children's education."
Aim High Tuition offers small group tuition in Maths, English and Science for students aged five to sixteen, both in person at its Chadderton centre and online.
