A respected lawyer from Oldham has taken on the role of President at Oldham Law Association.
Mohammed Ali Hussain, 45, a respected legal executive (CILEX) specialising in conveyancing, has been appointed President of the Oldham Law Association by his peers.
Born in Sylhet, Bangladesh, Hussain’s appointment marks a milestone. He becomes the first British Bangladeshi to hold the presidency in the association’s 100-year history.
“I’ve been practicing law for 15 years. I came to the UK from Bangladesh in 1990. Being the first British-Bangladeshi taking on this role is exciting. I want to inspire and help people, leave a legacy and set an example for up-and-coming lawyers,” Hussain said.
He has built a reputation within the legal sector. His leadership is widely respected among colleagues, who have placed their trust in him to guide the association forward.
He lives in Oldham with his family. His journey reflects both personal determination and the growing contribution of diverse communities to the legal profession.

“Believe in yourself and work hard,” he added. “If you have the desire and the willingness to work, anything is possible. Raise the bar as high as you can. It is a lot of hard work, including many sleepless nights.”
This appointment stands as an inspiration for future generations, demonstrating the power of hard work, representation, and community contribution.
Deputy lieutenant Muzahid Khan said: “It’s a very positive appointment and a powerful message of inclusiveness”
