Local Organisation Celebrates 8,000 Hours Of Voluntary Work

SPARK Oldham CIC welcomed volunteers, partners and community organisations to its Volunteers Week Celebration Event at Grains Bar and Hotel.

It was in recognition of the contribution of volunteers who have dedicated more than 8,000 hours supporting people across Oldham.

The event, held as part of national Volunteers Week celebrations, brought together local organisations, supporters and volunteers to celebrate the impact volunteers make every day.

Guests were honoured to be joined by the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, who recognised the achievements of volunteers and the difference they make within local communities.

The celebration provided an opportunity to reflect on the positive outcomes achieved through volunteering, whilst thanking the individuals and organisations whose support continues to transform lives across Oldham.

“Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do,” said Kim Rogers, Founder of SPARK Oldham. “This event was about saying thank you to the incredible people who give their time and energy to support others. Their commitment makes a real difference to families and communities every day.”

Alongside celebrating volunteer achievements, attendees had the opportunity to network with other community organisations, learn more about local volunteering opportunities and explore ways to support the voluntary and community sector across Oldham.

One volunteer said: “It was wonderful to be recognised and celebrated alongside so many people who give their time to help others. The event really highlighted the difference volunteers make in our communities.”

The event also showcased the strong partnerships that enable Spark to continue delivering support, activities and community initiatives throughout Oldham and reflects the ongoing commitment to strengthening communities and recognising the volunteers whose dedication helps make positive change possible every day.
